Cut Back on Sugar 

Adding a spoonful of sugar may sweeten things, but you're better off getting your taste buds used to less-sugared fare. Each teaspoon of sugar adds 15 calories to your day. If you drink two cups of coffee with sugar, add sugar to your breakfast cereal, sweeten your tea, and toss some over fruit for a dessert, you've packed on 75 sneaky sugar calories. Also, the American Heart Association recommends that women get no more than 6 teaspoons of added sugar per day.
