rowing machines
Q: Is a rowing machine good for a cardio workout? How long should I do it?
A: Rowing machines provide superb aerobic benefits, and rowing can tone both your upper and lower body. Vigorous rowing is one of the most effective calorie burners, potentially using more than 800 calories per hour. Rowing causes little to no impact on the joints, but users should be alert to strain on the knees and lower back.
If you have never rowed, aim for smooth, coordinated actions, and start at a fairly low intensity. Try eight to 10 rows per minute for five to 10 minutes, gradually increasing to 15–30 rows per minute over 15–30 minutes.
