1 of 13

CNN’s chief medical correspondent offers his personal prescription for curbing cardiovascular risks.

You may recognize Sanjay Gupta, M.D., as CNN’s chief medical correspondent, the health expert who covers breaking news and hosts House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

Along with his work as a practicing neurosurgeon at two Atlanta hospitals and as a professor of neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine, Gupta is taking his message of helping patients lead longer, healthier lives to bookstores in Chasing Life (Warner Books, 2007).

We asked Gupta what advice he’d give Heart-Healthy Living™ readers to improve their cardiovascular health.

“You can make yourself feel better, stay younger, live longer … and you can do it now,” he says.

The key is to live an active life, reduce stress, and improve your diet. Here are his tips to get started.
